Assam Governor Acharya Attends Health Camp Under Sewa Sankalp Saptah

Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the Governor of Assam, attended a health camp organised at Jahajghat LP School in Guwahati on Tuesday as part of the Sewa Sankalp Saptah initiative.
The camp was organised by Lok Bhavan in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, with the objective of providing accessible healthcare services to the public. During his visit, the Governor reviewed the medical facilities and interacted with beneficiaries.
On the occasion, Acharya distributed wheelchairs to Divyangjan and handed over Nikshay Mitra kits to caregivers of tuberculosis patients. He also announced a one-time financial grant for the school to support its infrastructure and developmental needs.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that service to humanity reflects a sense of national duty and social responsibility. He highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and urged people to adopt healthy lifestyles, including proper hygiene, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity and attention to mental well-being. He also called upon the youth to actively participate in community service and health awareness initiatives.
Officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department, NHM functionaries, ASHA workers and local dignitaries were present at the programme. According to officials, a total of 216 beneficiaries availed services at the camp.
