The High Court has issued an important directive on the Home Guard and Special Police Officers in the state. The court directed the government to consider the matter in reinstatement. The High Court has issued the order in the recruitment of constables in the Assam Industrial Security Force.
The court issued the order to provide relief to the families of about 700 SPOs. They suddenly lost their jobs after working as SPOs for a long time. The government did not pay attention to the protests at various times. Finally, the High Court ruling gave relief to the PSOs who lost their jobs halfway.
A single judge bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar Medhi, further directed that if it is found that that the petitionera are withib the zone of consideration and have secured more than the cutt-off marks secured by the last appointed candidate , the benefit of appointment should given to them.
