Four Kill*ed, Ten Injured in Bus Accident in Assam’s Karbi Anglong

At least four people were killed and ten others injured after a passenger bus crashed into a roadside tree in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Saturday, police officials said.
According to police, the accident occurred when the bus reportedly lost control while negotiating a sharp bend and veered off the road before colliding with a tree. The impact of the crash was severe, killing four passengers on the spot, including the driver.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Barek, Khalil Rahman, Chabina Sultana and Alal Uddin. Their bodies were later recovered by rescue teams and sent for post-mortem examination.
Ten other passengers sustained injuries in the accident. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Dimapur for medical treatment. Officials said that one of the injured is a child and that the condition of the victims is being closely monitored by doctors.
Police personnel and local residents rushed to the site soon after the incident and assisted in rescue operations. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Road accidents remain a major concern in several hill districts of Assam, where sharp bends and difficult terrain often pose risks to motorists.
