A delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) has praised the holistic and community-oriented healthcare services provided at the Lalmati Sub-Centre–Ayushman Arogya Mandir (SC-AAM) in Assam during a recent visit to the facility.
The WHO team visited the health centre as part of an assessment of primary healthcare delivery under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir framework. Officials expressed satisfaction with the centre’s patient-centric approach, clean and well-maintained infrastructure, and systematic service delivery mechanisms.
According to officials, the Lalmati SC-AAM effectively provides comprehensive primary healthcare services, including maternal and child healthcare, elderly and palliative care, and screening and management of non-communicable diseases. The delegation also appreciated the centre’s emphasis on preventive care and community outreach.
During the visit, the WHO team conducted home visits to observe healthcare delivery at the community level and commended the dedication and professionalism of frontline health workers. Special appreciation was extended to the centre’s Community Health Officer and staff for their commitment to improving health outcomes in the area.
The delegation described Lalmati SC-AAM as a model example of holistic primary healthcare, noting that it successfully implements all key service components envisioned under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir initiative.
The visit underscores Assam’s progress in strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure and delivering accessible, quality healthcare services at the grassroots level.
